Modular homes are basically shipped as two units and put together to create a single structure home. One would question that their safety due to seeing many of these homes being transported on a highway and looking like a double wide trailer. The truth of the matter is there are really a house out there that have give more to them than the ones you see on the highway and can often be safer than homes built on site. Many people do live in high risk areas for natural disasters. These people want to know if their modular house will be safe in the event of a storm or earthquake.

A major difference in these homes are what they have built underneath. Mobile houses and double wides are built on chassis hidden by a metal skirt. Modular homes are built on similar foundations as site built homes and can easily better withstand storm damage.

In a lot of ways, a modular house is really more sturdy than a site built home. They are both built to local and state building codes, but modular homes have to be built strong enough to travel. There are additional security measures put in to enable the house for traveling long distances by trucks. Framing is much stronger which makes them more likely to be able to withstand damage from winds.

Another great thing about purchasing a modular house, is that if anything were to happen to your home during in time travel, it would be replaced for free. It would be unfortunate that the delay would occur for the home completion, but at least you wouldn’t have to worry about the financial responsibilities.

Having a modular home built for you is one of the most cost effective ways to build a new home you can select. The plans are very easy to see, and you have many options to choose from when it comes to picking the perfect floor plan. When people think of a modular home they think of something simplistic, undersized, and just nothing special to say the least. This is far from true in today’s day and age, and you would be very surprised at how nice a manufactured home can be.

Some of the different types you can select from is a ranch style house, a cape style home, or even a two story modular home. Yes, manufactured homes actually can be multiple stories. The structural integrity for all of these different types to choose from is just as good as a foundation-based home. Manufactured homes can even be customized by the buyer to suite their needs, and for each type of modular home, you can choose from multiple various floor plans that have a large range in square footage and the number of bedrooms.

Another huge benefit of a pre-made house is the construction process of actually putting it together takes a lot less time than a traditional house, because everything is ready to be connected and the entire process is turn important. You will not be disappointed with the craftsmanship, the way the home is put together, the professionalism of the company providing you with your home, and the best part of it all is the amount of money you will save by not paying to build a traditional house.

Modular homes are made of units called modules made at manufacturing centers away from their actual building sites. The finished home is then shipped to the site by flat bed truck and lowered and attached to a preset foundation.

Small modular homes have a lot of advantages. Firstly they are easy to manufacture. They are easily assembled on the shop floor in an assembly line process. They are also easily transported to the site by truck where a crane can easily set the structure onto a preset foundation.

There are many time and cost savings in modular construction. The manufacturer obtains discounts on raw materials due to bulk purchases from suppliers. They also incur less labor costs compared to the labor costs of a site-built house. There is a great deal of efficiency as the assembly line is more efficient than a number of construction workers. Building material is also safe from inclement weather and robbery. Much less waste is generated in small modular home construction than in traditional methods.

When a manufacturer is building without a backlog, it usually delivers a house five weeks after the customer has finalized the plan and obtained permits and finances. The builder starts building the foundation while the house is being manufactured in the factory. In the case of a small, uncomplicated house requiring less onsite construction, it will be ready in three weeks. Combining building and manufacturing time, a customer can hope to move into his dream home in eight weeks’ time.

Modular homes also attract easy finance. Most customers save money constructing homes rather than purchasing them. The shorter construction time means that there are fewer monthly interest payments required to service the loan. Lenders like modular homes because customers are unlikely to incur large cost over runs or run late in building. Quality is predictable. Construction inspection is also easy as the modular home is fully finished even at the first inspection.

Modular homes are time- and cost-saving, aesthetically pleasing and quality-conscious, and an excellent alternative to stick-built houses.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks for many consumers in regards to modular homes is the extremely short period of time in which they can be completely finished and assembled, which beggars belief. The traditional methods of site buildings, i.e. buildings erected and completed where they stood, were grossly ineffective, unreliable and plagued with a host of problems that served to delay the final completion date. It would seem that, having grown up in an era where inefficiency and huge delays in the final result was not only the norm but accepted as the “cost of doing business” it is somewhat understandable given that consumers are reluctant to accept modular homes for what they are on at face value. Understandable but yet at the same time, it is still very frustrating.

So how long DOES it take for a modular home to be constructed, assembled, ready for use?

At an absolute maximum, the materials will be completed and produced in the factory within a fortnight (two weeks). If that has impressed you, then please note that this timeframe includes quality control inspections and inspections by industry experts in order to ensure that the property is fit for use and totally safe.

Hearing such a remarkably short period of time is more than enough to make many consumers uncomfortable. How on earth can the producers of modular homes have the property ready in such a short period of time?

As briefly touched upon earlier within the article, the traditional methods used to build houses were ineffective and riddled with problems, and the modular homes manage to address these issues quickly and safely as well as with no small measure of efficiency. Because the materials are produced and used in a 100% climate-controlled environment this means that there is no need to worry about or be concerned with any damage or destruction of the building materials.

Because the materials are completed in the factory and then erected when finished, there is no need to worry about theft because the materials are no longer in an easily accessible state meaning that any would be thief will find that the cost of dismantling and transporting the materials they have purloined will far exceed any sort of illicit profit they may have netted for themselves!

Modular homes are houses built in factories and then transported to and assembled at the housing site. Modular homes are different from mobile homes and site-built homes. What modular homes look like in this day and age are totally different then what you may think they do. They look like current built homes that can vary from cottages to mansion style homes.

Modular homes today can be custom built to have everything in them that you would find in a regular home; skylights, vaulted ceilings, entertainment centers, fireplaces, custom cabinets, crown moulding, hardwood flooring, the list can go on and on. The dealer that you will be buying from will show you all of the many details that you may choose from. Modular homes today have many different styles, including split level, two story, cape, and ranch styles. Maybe you are looking for a smaller cottage style modular home or you might be looking for a bigger home either way a modular home can be the home for you and your family.

Modular homes today are like any other home but one of the differences is that they are built in a factory setting and sections are built at different times. Because they are built inside, there are now weather delays like can happen on a home that is being built right on the property. When the modular home makes it to the site, all the sections are then put onto an already made foundation, having the modular home ready to move into on just four to six weeks.
Delays so not happen often, they are very rare. A modular home today will cost less then any other contracted home per square foot. Being very energy efficient modular home today have a lower heating and cooling cost this is because they are will insulated and along with this they are air tight.

Modular homes are built in an offsite, quality controlled environment. The main advantage is that they can be built in half the time, while meeting the same quality standard. Modular homes can be customer-designed. The time saving is immense: modular homes take thirty to ninety days for completion, compared to six to nine months for site-built houses. Modular homes are growing more popular by the day.
